In our study of Luke’s account of the public ministry of Jesus in Galilee, we have noticed Luke’s deliberate correspondence with the outline of the Gospel of Mark. It is obvious that Luke was dependent upon Mark as a major resource for his Gospel, Luke 1:1-4. Luke includes almost all the incidents recorded by Mark. Luke’s message and outline is distinct, and yet this gospel agrees in a remarkable and comprehensive way with the outline of Mark.
